About Me
Hi, I’m Sonja, mom to Sawyer and Owl Feet. I love chamomile tea in the morning, foraging in the woods behind our house, and color, lots and lots of color!

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had two main passions — children and art. My mom, grandmother, and great grandmother were all painters and art educators, so art played an important role in my upbringing. I began babysitting at the age of 12 and working on art projects with the kids was always the highlight of my day.
In college, I initially majored in graphic and interior design, but always felt there was something missing. Come to find, it was the kids! I eventually graduated with a degree in elementary education, and realized early on I was most interested in exploring alternative ways of working with children. I nannied for years and worked in a Reggio inspired preschool, both of which greatly shaped my philosophy and approach with children.

After having my son Sawyer in March of 2017, I stayed home with him while caring for a few other kids. For the last year, dozens of ideas have percolated in ways that re-engage my interest for creating with children. Well folks, I’ve found it! I’d be honored to share the joy and power of creating with your child and your family.
